Crypto Backend Developer (Europe based)

The Role

We're looking a Back End Developer to join the international team behind the development of a crypto exchange platform. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining scalable, secure APIs and services that power the core of the platform. You'll integrate smart contracts, manage wallet interactions, and ensure seamless backend performance across blockchain and database systems.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js or Python
  • Develop and integrate APIs that interact with blockchain networks and smart contracts using tools like Web3.js or Ethers.js
  • Connect and manage wallet integrations to enable seamless user authentication and transaction flows
  • Collaborate with the front-end team to define and support end-to-end Web3 user experiences
  • Manage and optimize relational and non-relational databases
  • Ensure application security, reliability, and performance by applying backend best practices and blockchain-specific safeguards
  • Monitor and support blockchain infrastructure (nodes, RPC endpoints) where applicable
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging Web3 trends, especially DeFi protocols, NFT standards, and Ethereum ecosystem updates


What You Bring To The Table

  • Proficient in Node.js or Python
  • Experience integrating with smart contracts (Web3.js, Ethers.js)
  • Familiarity with wallet APIs (e.g., MetaMask, WalletConnect)
  • Solid understanding of blockchain fundamentals (Ethereum or similar)
  • Skilled in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar databases
  • Strong grasp of backend architecture, API development, and security best practices
  • Experience with DeFi, NFTs, or running blockchain nodes
  • Based in EMEA
