DevOps Engineer | AWS, Lambda, Terraform | Web3 Crypto Innovation Hub

Step into the engine room of one of London’s most exciting Web3 gaming ventures. This is a chance to build future-defining crypto gaming products, from live casinos to blockchain lotteries, backed by the financial firepower of a hedge fund but with all the energy of a creative startup.

You’ll join a small (currently 8 people, growing to 20 over the next 12–18 months), highly technical team incubating blockchain-native entertainment products. The office? A Georgian townhouse near Oxford Circus with a games room, tequila bar, and takeaways on tap. The people? Ex-iGaming, crypto-first, sharp engineers, and relentless builders. This is a product-led, code-first culture with the runway to move fast and own real outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

• AWS Lambda, S3, EventBridge, SQS and API Gateway – architect and implement secure, serverless infrastructure.
• Terraform – define, version, and manage infrastructure as code across multiple environments.
• GitHub Actions & OIDC – build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines with secure authentication.
• Datadog, Prometheus or similar – implement logging, metrics, and alerting for robust observability – the interim CTO is keen to hear your recommendation(s) on tooling and implementation strategy.
• Disaster recovery and security tooling – ensure platform resilience and safe deployment of backend and smart contract code.
• Event-driven architecture – where you will be building, supporting and running scalable systems that can handle millions of users per day.

You will be the sole DevOps Engineer managing the serverless cloud architecture, so it’s essential you have a wealth of experience and that you’re confident in making decisions alone without the support of a manager or a team around you, as you will have complete autonomy for the AWS platform and DevOps tooling and methodologies.

Essential Skills:

• AWS serverless expertise – especially Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, and API Gateway
• Terraform experience in production-grade infrastructure with modular codebases
• CI/CD with GitHub Actions including secure deployments using OIDC
• Production-grade monitoring – logs, alerts, cost optimisation, and troubleshooting in a high-scale setup
• Infrastructure from scratch – comfortable bootstrapping systems and maturing them into live platforms

Nice to have:

• Blockchain infrastructure knowledge – nodes, RPC endpoints, oracles etc.
• Amplify or other scaling frameworks in high-volume environments
• Crypto-native mindset – understanding of the pace, tech stack, and risks of Web3
