Principal Project Officer - Reviews, Curriculum, Teaching and Learning

This role offers an exciting and unique opportunity to bring to life the department's vision for Junior Secondary: On track for success. This priority recognises the changing needs of our young adolescent learners - generation alpha - as they navigate their way through their learning journey. This role will contribute to designing and implementing an evidence-informed approach and provide a strong focus on professional expertise and systems required to maximise the engagement, learning and wellbeing of all young adolescent learners. This is a temporary full-time position until 31 December 2026, unless otherwise determined.

About The Role
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Contribute to the development of the department's strategic priorities associated with Equity and Excellence: On track for success phase of schooling
- Research, analyse and synthesise current evidence and practices that support positive and confident transitions from upper primary into and through junior secondary
- Prepare reports, briefings, presentations and communications for the project Director and Senior Leaders.
- Engage collaboratively, productively and professionally with the Junior Secondary team, and with internal and external stakeholders including schools, regional officers, researchers and teams across the department.
- Develop resources to support implementation of project deliverables including the web presence, communications and presentations.
- Personal drive and integrity to lead projects and work autonomously
- Commitment to collaboration and teamwork
- Effective time management and strong written and verbal communication skills
- Deep knowledge of the developmental characteristics of young adolescent learners and the practices that support their effective transition into and through junior secondary schooling.
