Cloud Engineer

Summary Description:

Freelance Cloud Engineer needed for a 12-month replatforming project, migrating on-premise systems to Microsoft Azure using containerization and Kubernetes, in the banking sector. 2 days onsite in Brussels, 3 days remote.

Salary: Competitive Day Rate + Expenses

Location/Language: Brussels (onsite 2 days/week) / Remote / English (French or Dutch a plus)

Requirements Description:

Skilled Azure Cloud Engineer with hands-on experience in on-prem to Azure migrations, replatforming, and containerization with Kubernetes. Must be comfortable in regulated environments.

Tasks Description:

• Migrate on-prem apps and databases to Azure PaaS/IaaS
• Replatform legacy apps using containers and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Automate infrastructure with Terraform/ARM
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins
• Ensure compliance with banking security standards
• Collaborate with teams and provide documentation

Essential Skills/Experience Description:

• Azure cloud migration and replatforming experience
• Strong Kubernetes and containerization knowledge
• IaC (Terraform/ARM), CI/CD, DevOps tools
• Experience in regulated sectors
• Fluent in English

Desirable Skills/Additional Information Description:

• Azure governance/security (e.g., Defender for Cloud)
• Scripting (PowerShell, Python)
• French or Dutch language skills
