Senior Associate Technology
Our client a leading Irish law firm, with a strong reputation across a range of sectors including Financial Services and Regulatory law are now expanding with the creation of a dedicated Technology Team to meet client demand across the areas of Fintech, Digital Transformation, Data Innovation, and Regulatory Technology.
Responsibilities:
Advise clients on a wide range of technology-related legal matters, including:
- IT contracts (licensing, SaaS, cloud services)
- Data protection (GDPR compliance, DPIAs, cross-border data flows)
- Cybersecurity and incident response
- Digital transformation projects
- Fintech and platform regulation
- Lead and negotiate complex technology and outsourcing agreements
- Play a central role in the development and growth of the Technology Team, including working closely with senior partners and supporting recruitment, training, and mentoring of junior lawyer
- Contribute to the shaping of the team’s strategy, service offering, and market positioning
- Provide practical and commercially focused advice to clients, particularly those in regulated sectors such as financial services, fintech and digital infrastructure
- Keep up to date with developments in Irish, EU, and international technology and data regulation, and translate these into actionable insights for clients
- Lead and contribute to marketing and business development efforts, including client pitches, publications, events, and thought leadership
Requirement:
- Qualified solicitor with c5-7+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) preferably in an established law firm with an international client base
- Demonstrable expertise in commercial technology law, data protection, or cyber security
- Strong understanding of relevant Irish and EU legal frameworks (including MICA, GDPR, NIS2, DORA, AI Act etc)
- Experience advising regulated clients is a plus (e.g., financial services, fintech or digital infrastructure sectors)
- Proactive, commercially minded, and capable of working independently with senior clients
- A strong communicator, extensive drafting, and negotiation skills
