Significant training budget + global travel opportunities

How about the opportunity to make a real impact from day 1 as part of a leading global financial technology organisation?

We're looking for a driven, technically capable and inquisitive Security Engineer to join a growing security function!

The team has built a strong foundation, the CISO is highly involved at all levels, providing you with ongoing support, supported a senior team who have generalist mindsets and will be able to support you with all aspects of your role.

About the Role

You've likely come from a SOC or IT operations background within a larger organisation and are now ready to take the next step. You're comfortable handling alerts, improving processes, and enjoy collaborating across teams. This role is designed to build on those foundations-giving you more autonomy, deeper exposure across the security stack, and strong support to help you grow.

You'll take on alert triage and investigation, with opportunities to contribute to automation and process improvement.

The team has been implementing strong tooling, and now is your opportunity to come in and take ownership of everyday operations, continuing to drive improvements.

There's a well-established company culture focused on continuous learning, within the security team there is a significant training budget for opportunities like SANS certifications and global conferences such as Bsides, DEF CON, and Black Hat.

Working on projects locally and globally, including paid trips to their global offices across the world.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Investigating and remediating security alerts using automated and manual processes
  • Identifying and delivering improvements to detection and response workflows
  • Using a low-code SOAR platform to build and tune automation and reduce noise
  • Collaborating with teams across cloud and identity environments to uplift security posture
  • Supporting internal compliance initiatives and contributing to global security projects
  • Working across a range of tools and platforms to identify threats, close gaps, and strengthen defences

What You Bring

  • Around 3 years of experience in security operations
  • A generalist mindset → comfortable switching between tools and tasks
  • Hands-on experience with SOAR and automation in a SOC environment
  • Proactive, investigative instincts → you take initiative and don't wait for instructions
  • Comfort in less structured environments → thrive when you can make the role your own
  • Bonus: experience with cloud environments, IAM, or IGA tooling
  • Aus Citizenship or Residency.

Why You'll Love This Role

  • Impact from day one
  • A strong learning culture
  • Autonomy and mentorship
  • A diverse tech stack
