Project Manager - UN Agency

For a UN Agency based in Geneva, NTT DATA is currently looking for a Project Manager to join the team remotely. The incumbent works closely with other colleagues to ensure projects are functioning well, and that processes and procedures are in place to support smooth operations. You will actively be involved in the project's change management.

You will be responsible for:

• Update risk register, flagging major risks for stakeholders at appropriate intervals and proposing countermeasures.
• Track project milestones and maintain up-to-date plan of project activities.
• Provide technical guidance to support project team in developing accurate projections of spending to correlate with planned project milestones.
• Track delivery against results framework and update results framework register of key indicators.
• Review business case validity and make updates to scope and project framing documents as needed.
• Ensure that any changes to project scope are aligned with project prioritization decisions made at Department and unit levels.
• Update project status report in PMP according to defined PMO reporting schedule. Ensure that PMP remains up to date outside of regular status reporting.
• Advise project stakeholders on a right-sized approach for project governance (in terms of frequency of meetings and composition of the bodies) and evaluate the functionality of the governance bodies on an ongoing basis.
• Advise project team when to flag major risks or changes to project plan for project bodies review and decision, clearly documenting decisions that are taken in these meetings.
• Facilitate preparation for the governance bodies meetings, drafting PowerPoints together with project teams and distilling key decision points for governance body review, follow through on decisions taken in these meetings.

• Develop membership management tool.
• Monitor member organizations' engagement and delivery of initiatives across multiple bodies.
• Document implementation risks related to project bodies and member organizations and flag issues early to UN team for proactive risk mitigation.

• Manage member communication and engagement including engagement plan, content planning and development.
• Coordinate and facilitate internal team meetings, developing agenda and tracking tasks.

For this role you will need to have experience in:

• First-level university degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Professional qualification or foundation certification in project management methodologies such as PMI, Prince 2, Agile SCRUM.
• At least five (5) years of recent professional experience in program / project planning, management and successful delivery of complex cross functional or interdependent projects, some of which should be at the global or international level.
• Experience in collaborating with teams (physically or virtually) in an international and multi-cultural environment whilst producing results
• Proven experience in writing project plans and project-related documentation.
• Experience in facilitating workshops, presentations to senior stake holders and managing change in a federated (decentralized) organization.
• Proven skills in the areas of project management, change management, building trust, planning, organizing, resourcing with careful attention to detail to continuously monitor progress actions and initiatives.
• Ability to adapt and manage deliverables and resources in a climate of change and to think and act quickly, sometimes under pressure yet remain effective.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with teams in an international, multi-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment; separated by geographical locations and working under different time-zones.
• Ability to promote best practices, advise on improvements, independently perform research, and apply information from a broad range of sources.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, negotiate, advocate, motivate, resolve conflict, and adapt relevant leadership styles to a variety of situations.
• Excellent communication (both oral and written), problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong supervisory, organizational, management, and consultancy skills.
• Proactive, flexible, resourceful and able to work independently with limited supervision.
• Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint…)

Desirable:

• Extensive experience in working across multiple time zones without the need for face-to-face meetings.
• Experience with UN or other international or multinational organizations.
• Experience with professional business services such as consulting.
• Experience in facilitating workshops, presentations to senior stakeholders, and managing change in a federated (decentralized) organization.
