Senior Java Developer

Location: Romania (Remote)

Contract: 12 months + (B2B)

Start: ASAP

Rate: 40 euros an hour gross

Working Hours: US (CST)

Responsibilities:

Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable Java-based applications using Spring Boot, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
Design and implement user-facing features using React and JavaScript to enhance user experience and ensure seamless integration with backend services.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business analysts, and UX/UI designers, to define and implement financial software solutions aligned with business requirements.
Design and optimize relational (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL) and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) database schemas, queries, and integrations to efficiently handle complex data sets.
Ensure application security, compliance, and data integrity, especially considering the sensitive nature of financial data.
Participate actively in agile development practices, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of professional experience in Java development, with deep expertise in Spring Boot.
Solid proficiency with frontend technologies including React and JavaScript.
Demonstrated experience in designing, managing, and optimizing both relational and non-relational databases.
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and familiarity with cloud-native applications.
Prior experience in the financial industry or financial software applications strongly preferred.
Knowledge of agile methodologies and CI/CD practices, including experience with tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
