BUSINESS ANALYST & TECHNICAL WRITER RESPONSIBILITIES
The main purpose of this hybrid role is to act as a bridge between IT capabilities and business objectives, while also supporting documentation needs for critical infrastructure and operational processes. You will be responsible for analysing business workflows and technological systems, and contributing directly to the development of technical documentation such as Operations Manuals, Emergency Manuals, and other supporting documents for data centre operations.
You will work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to capture requirements, define improvements, and ensure successful delivery of software and process documentation. A solid understanding of IT Infrastructure, Application Services, ITSM (IT Service Management), and process management is essential for success in this role.
In addition, you may assume responsibilities typical of an Agile Scrum Master, facilitating ceremonies and promoting team productivity and continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of technical documentation (e.g. Operations Manual, Emergency Manual).
- Gathering and translating business and technical requirements into clear, structured documentation and deliverables.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technical execution.
- Facilitating Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint planning, demos, and decision-making sessions.
- Driving improvements in operational processes and documentation quality.
- Ensuring clear and concise documentation for infrastructure and application services, with a focus on service continuity and process clarity.
BUSINESS ANALYST REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience in identifying business and technical requirements and supporting testing phases.
- Experience in developing or contributing to technical documentation and process manuals.
- Proficient in German (speaking and writing).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
- Strong process analysis and documentation skills.
- Understanding of IT Infrastructure and Application Services.
- Familiarity with ITSM practices and principles.
- Experience analysing data to draw actionable insights; data visualisation skills are a plus.
- Ability to translate business needs into well-structured User Stories and documentation.
- Experience defining configuration specifications, reporting, and alerting requirements.
- Proficiency with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, TFS).
- Basic SQL knowledge is an advantage.
