Back End Developer

About the Role

A Senior Software Engineer is sought to provide hands-on leadership across a growing engineering team and take technical workload off the CTO. You’ll play a key role in building and improving backend systems that process, store, and transform large volumes of data across web, desktop, and mobile platforms.

Working across an established and scalable platform, this role is best suited to someone confident with .NET, experienced in leading others, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-ownership environment.

You’ll report directly to the CTO and have flexibility to work remotely 1–2 days per week.

You Should Have;

• 5+ years of software engineering experience (C# preferred, Java also suitable)
• At least 2–3 years in a senior-level capacity
• Strong hands-on experience with ASP.NET and backend systems
• Confidence mentoring junior and mid-level developers
• Commercial experience with AWS (or GCP) – ideally 2+ years
• Ability to hit the ground running and take ownership of deliverables

Nice to Have;

• Exposure to frontend frameworks such as Vue or React
• Experience working in startup or scale-up environments

Key Responsibilities;

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications across web, desktop, and mobile
• Build and optimise RESTful APIs for managing and transforming large data sets
• Enhance system performance and user experience across platforms
• Collaborate with product managers, QA engineers, and domain specialists to ship quality features
• Work with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and observability
• Contribute to both greenfield and legacy system development
• Participate in architecture planning, code reviews, and team mentoring
• Champion clean, maintainable code and robust testing practices
