Job Title: PV Project Manager Italy

Location: Milan (Hybrid – 2 days remote per week)

Leap29 is collaborating with a prominent player in the energy transition, dedicated to driving sustainable solutions across Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Indian Ocean, and Africa. They specialise in innovative renewable energy projects, with a strong focus on C&I and energy efficiency initiatives.

As part of their ambitious growth strategy in Europe, my client is seeking a PV Project Manager to oversee the development, construction, and operational performance of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV assets in Italy.

Working closely with the Head of Operations, Co-Dev team, and Country Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest technical standards. From feasibility studies through to post-construction operations, you’ll be responsible for managing technical aspects, coordinating stakeholders, and maintaining the long-term profitability and efficiency of assets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead feasibility studies and energy analyses for C&I PV systems ranging from 0.5 to 10 MWp

• Design system layouts, define material specifications, and support budgeting and planning

• Ensure all designs and activities comply with local and national regulatory requirements

• Support the Sales team in identifying new opportunities, developing technical proposals, and building strategic partnerships

• Assist the M&A team with technical due diligence, as well as capex and opex evaluations for potential acquisitions

• Manage relationships with EPC contractors during the design, permitting, and construction phases

• Oversee installation activities, ensuring smooth coordination between contractors, suppliers, and internal teams

• Supervise ongoing maintenance and performance optimization of operational assets, including revamping projects

• Ensure that all assets are operated in line with EPC and O&M contractual terms

• Monitor project deadlines, financial progress, and plant performance, resolving any issues that arise

Requirements:

• Degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial)

• 3+ years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within the solar PV sector

• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD, PVSyst, and monitoring/CMMS tools

• Strong technical understanding of PV systems; rooftop PV experience is a plus

• Familiarity with Italian C&I PV regulations and processes (DSO, GSE, Customs, etc.)

• Highly organised, autonomous, and results-driven with strong stakeholder coordination skills

• Fluent in Italian and English

• Driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed
