Technology Product Owner – Principal Engineer

Do Work That Matters

As a Principal Engineer in the DevSecOps Transformation, you will play a critical role in accelerating the adoption of secure, high-performance engineering practices across the enterprise. Embedded within the Engineering Platform domain, you will lead a dedicated enablement squad, partnering with business units (BUs), platform teams, and delivery squads to uplift DevSecOps maturity through hands-on coaching, reusable patterns, and scalable capabilities. This role will sit in the wider team of the Engineering Platform domain and is focused on enabling the Group's engineers by delivering world-class engineering tools, processes, and career pathways.

You will:

• Lead the implementation and scaling of DevSecOps capabilities (golden path, CI/CD, secure pipelines, automated testing, observability, IaC, policy-as-code) across delivery teams, aligned to enterprise goals.
• Accountable to plan and uplift overall DevSecOps maturity in partnership with senior technology crew leaders within the BU.
• Drive platform engineering enablement, ensuring teams have access to secure, performant, and scalable tools and processes. Facilitate engineering immersion, pairing sessions, and technical coaching to uplift DevSecOps knowledge and practice across the engineering community.
• Monitor and report on the progress of DevSecOps initiatives, identifying and addressing any impediments, using key metrics to drive prioritisation and adoption.
  
  

We’re interested in hearing from people who:

• Proven experience as a Principal Engineer in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering within large-scale enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise in modern delivery pipelines, GitOps, Kubernetes, cloud-native architectures, and security automation.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills—from engineers to executives.
• Have proven experience to lead a team of engineers to deliver clear outcomes. Ability to work with senior stakeholders to define a clear platform engineering roadmaps and deliver Product vision.
• Possess expertise in Architecture & Design, creating scalable, secure, and maintainable applications, and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Are proficient in Full-Stack Engineering, with skills in JavaScript, Python, SQL, and DBT, and experience in dashboard and backend development, data lakes, and data warehouses.
• Demonstrate capability in Cloud Enablement & Automation, skilled in AWS services, Infrastructure as Code, and building scalable, high-performance architectures.
• Have experience in DevSecOps & Automated Security, integrating security in DevOps, managing secure CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
