We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to join us in Lisbon for a 6 – 18 month FTC starting ASAP.

Your Role

The role of Senior UX Designer will involve:

• Identifying opportunities for the business based on research findings and usage data · Lead the UX design for ZEISS’s global digital ordering platforms, supporting workflows such as lens and frame ordering, remote edge submission, customer account management, and tracking.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and satisfaction for key B2B users (e.g. opticians, store staff, customer service).
• Facilitate workshops and user testing with international stakeholders to gather insights, validate design hypotheses, and align on direction.
• Translate insights into actionable UX artefacts (e.g. user journeys, wireframes, prototypes) and deliver pixel-perfect UI designs for handoff.
• Champion consistency and usability by evolving and applying the ZEISS design system across all touchpoints.
• Collaborate with product managers, business analysts, and developers to define requirements and shape deliverables that meet business and user needs.
• Contribute to team learning on design best practices, accessibility, and inclusive user interfaces for varied device types and environments.

Your Experience

As a Senior UX Designer you will have:

• Degree qualified in UX/UI Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Product Design, or related field, resulting in a portfolio that demonstrates:
• A broad design skillset ranging from generating high-level concepts to translating them into valuable and implementable digital products
• Advanced skills in design tools such as Figma and Sketch
• A passion for making things real and experience in translating UI concepts into running digital products or services of excellent quality
• Experience with DesignOps, e.g. managing and developing UI pattern libraries and style guides
• Collaborative, user-centred mindset, with ability to co-create with stakeholders across business, product, and tech.
• Experience facilitating workshops using Design Thinking methods to uncover user pain points and shape solutions.
• Solid understanding of B2B personas, including varying roles (store manager vs. sales assistant), user priorities (e.g. order accuracy, speed), and constraints (training, device compatibility).
• Familiarity with data-driven design: using usage analytics, feedback loops, and usability testing to improve flows and interfaces.
• Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills in English (German a plus), with the ability to create high-impact presentations and explain design rationale to non-designers.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience of ordering systems or similar
• Experience of working in a consulting or agency environment
• Experience of working in large, complex global environments
