About The Role

We are looking for a (Senior) Backend Engineer to join our highly skilled Web Development team located in Oulu.

In this role you’ll work on a critical R&D product that has a huge impact on Qt tooling and framework. This cross-functional project brings together expertise from multiple teams to develop cutting-edge solutions. You’ll be at the heart of it, solving complex technical challenges, driving innovation, and directly shaping the future of Qt tooling.

You’ll play a key role in the design, development, and deployment of those by assessing the technical and computational complexity based on the functional and nonfunctional requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain our Figma to Qt product
• Collaborate with Product Management (and other roles) to refine the functional requirements and build test cases to be verified during development and feature release
• Seek and provide advice and criticism for technical approaches and methods: include others in discussions and designs
• Assess the severity/impact of bugs quickly to help set priority and align this with Product and Engineering Management
• Own and plan for elements such as availability/quality/performance/security risks for your team and area, through review and technical design

What You Bring To The Table

• 3 to 5 years of professional software development experience and proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
• Understanding of requirements (performance, ownership of feature) between different systems and can translate this into technical designs that consider technical and non-technical constraints and balance for business value, simplicity, mitigation of technical risks, and performance at scale
• High sense of ownership of the features built and supported by the team
• Advanced knowledge in English, both written and verbal (English is our corporate language)

• Experience with CMake, QML, and C++
• Experience with Figma
• Comfortable working with cross-functional teams
• Interest in AI technology
