Chief Specialist – Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

Join the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to lead transformative AI strategies that shape the future of smart mobility and data-driven governance in Dubai. We’re looking for a dynamic Chief Specialist to drive cutting-edge AI research, project implementation, and cross-agency innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage the AI Strategy aligned with RTA’s Digital Vision
• Lead design, testing, and deployment of AI solutions including machine learning, NLP, computer vision, and robotics
• Develop the AI roadmap, methodology, policies, and standards across departments
• Drive AI proof-of-concept development, tendering, vendor management, and project delivery
• Foster a culture of AI innovation, experimentation, and capability building across RTA
• Conduct global AI research, evaluate tech trends, and optimize executed use cases
• Identify and prioritize AI projects across agencies based on organizational needs and impact
• Build and mentor a high-performing AI engineering team focused on continuous learning

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
• Minimum 11 years of proven experience leading successful AI projects
• Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, generative AI, and neural networks
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Scala, C++, or R
• Hands-on with frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, Scikit-learn, Caffe, etc.
• Experience with structured & unstructured data, KPI development, and agile/scrum methodologies
