About The Role And The Team

Big Data Group is looking for a Big Data Engineer to join the team in either Vilnius or Kaunas to help build Adform’s reporting and analytics products.

The team is responsible for transforming 3 petabytes of raw, unstructured data into a scalable, high-performance data warehouse for online analytical processing. In addition to supporting Adform clients, the team also provides data insights and solutions to internal functions across the organization.

We hope you are ready to change the game! Be ready to:

Own the data and business logic of the Adform reporting platform
Write Spark code to transform granular data into pre-aggregated formats
Build and support ETL tools for internal and client data sharing
Supply data to the Vertica analytical database, optimizing and tuning performance
Write and deploy code in line with Adform standards and industry best practices
Proactively identify, report, and escalate risks within the team

Attitude First. Everything else will follow. We can grow together faster if you have:

A genuine interest in working with data
1+ years (Junior) or 3+ years (Mid-level) experience in data engineering
Practical experience with Python, Scala, or Java
Strong SQL skills, especially with analytical queries/databases (not just CRUD)
Experience with Docker and an understanding of containerization concepts
Confidence using command-line interfaces and working in Linux environments
Knowledge of modern software development practices (CI/CD, version control, Scrum)
A good sense of humor and a collaborative spirit

Stand out by having experience with:

Apache Spark
Vertica or any other OLAP/analytic DBMS
Hadoop ecosystem
