Back End Developer

Contract Details

• Work Arrangements: 2 days WFH

Company Overview

BLACKROC is partnering with a high-performing tech-driven organisation to recruit a Backend Engineer on a contract basis. This opportunity allows you to contribute to a complex, modern application stack in a collaborative, fast-paced team.

Role Purpose

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in back-end-heavy environments and enjoys working within a robust codebase that powers systems across multiple business domains. You’ll need deep experience with TypeScript, NodeJS, ElasticSearch, AWS S3, and ideally NestJS.

Key Responsibilities

• Build scalable and performant backend services using NodeJS and TypeScript.
• Integrate and develop RESTful APIs.
• Maintain and enhance complex, shared backend systems across domains.
• Work with ElasticSearch and AWS S3 for backend data processing.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and system design.
• Write comprehensive unit tests and engage in black-box testing approaches.

Required Experience

• TypeScript & NodeJS expertise
• Experience with NestJS (highly regarded)
• ElasticSearch, AWS S3 experience
• Strong testing capabilities
• Deep understanding of OOP and dependency injection
