Cognizant is looking for a IT Project Manager in developing customized product for our clients. The role is expected to drive technology discussions and analyze the current landscape for gaps in addressing business needs. Cognizant needs a motivated individual to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership/best practices to enhance our current services and technologies.

Responsibilities:


As an IT Project Manager at Customer, you will:

  • End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle, from project definition and planning, through execution, monitoring & control, to successful project closure and transition.
  • Scope & Requirements Management: Define, validate, and manage project scope, requirements, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with business objectives and architectural standards.
  • Financial Management: Develop, manage, and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and expenditures, ensuring cost-effective delivery and financial accountability.
  • Schedule Management: Create and maintain comprehensive project schedules, track progress, identify critical paths, and manage dependencies.
  • Resource Management: Identify, secure, and manage project resources (internal and external) to ensure optimal team performance and allocation.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify, assess, mitigate, and manage project risks and issues, escalating critical items as necessary.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders across IT, business units, vendors, and external partners. Effectively manage expectations and communication.
  • Methodology Adherence: Apply appropriate project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, SAFe, Waterfall, Hybrid) to ensure project success, process adherence, and continuous improvement.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet defined quality standards and align with Customer's operational readiness and security frameworks.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee and manage third-party vendor engagements, contracts, and delivery against project scope and objectives.
  • Reporting & Communication: Provide timely, accurate, and transparent project status reports, dashboards, and presentations to all levels of stakeholders.
  • Change Management: Support organisational change management activities associated with project delivery to ensure successful adoption.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure all projects adhere to Customer's risk management framework, internal policies, and relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., APRA, AML/CTF, privacy).


Required Capabilities and Experience:

  • 7+ years of demonstrated experience in end-to-end IT Project Management within large, complex organisations, preferably within the Banking and Financial Services sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale IT projects, covering areas such as digital transformation, infrastructure, applications, data, cybersecurity, or regulatory change.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycles (SDLC), and current technology trends.
  • Expertise in Project Management methodologies, including strong practical experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Experience in hybrid environments is highly regarded.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, or Azure DevOps.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Robust risk management capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating project risks and issues.
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


Desirable:


  • Formal qualifications in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
  • Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
