Job Responsibilities

A Senior Analyst with Power BI expertise is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports, performing data modelling, and writing SQL queries to extract and analyse data with strong data visualization skills, expertise in BI architecture, and the ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights for stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard and Report Development: Designing, developing, and maintaining interactive Power BI dashboards and reports to provide data-driven insights.

Data Modelling: Creating data models and architectures that support reporting needs, ensuring data is structured for efficient analysis.

SQL Querying: Writing and optimizing SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various databases.

Data Visualization: Implementing best practices for data visualization to create compelling and functional reports and dashboards.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborating with business stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements.

Data Analysis: Analysing complex data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can improve business performance. Communication: Effectively communicating findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Mentorship: Sharing knowledge and expertise with other team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Power BI Proficiency: Deep understanding of Power BI features, including DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculations and data modelling.

Data Visualization: Expertise in creating effective and visually appealing dashboards and reports.

SQL: Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.

Data Modelling: Experience in designing and implementing data models to support reporting and analytics.

Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse complex business problems and develop data-driven solutions.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey insights to stakeholders.

Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in BI, with a focus on Power BI.

Additional Desirable Skills

Experience with other BI tools: Knowledge of other BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Qlik) can be beneficial.

Cloud platforms: Experience with cloud-based data warehousing and analytics services (e.g., Azure, AWS).

Python: Familiarity with Python for automation and advanced analytics.

Gen AI: Understanding of Generative AI innovations and their potential applications in BI.
