Software Engineer

Talis Consulting Group
United States · Full-time · Mid-Senior

Talis is hiring Software Engineers for an exciting early-stage game studio led by industry veterans with a mission to change the way people play games together.

Opportunity: Software Engineer

At our company, a Software Engineer’s primary goal is to partner with game designers to create exceptional online gameplay, evolve our technology, and help build scalable, connected games.

Beyond building tech, you’ll have a voice and the opportunity to help shape what goes into our games. We're looking for an engineer who is comfortable working on game features, maintaining and improving the content pipeline, monitoring live data, and deploying servers. You’ll collaborate with and learn from a broad team—touching a bit of everything along the way.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Software Engineer who is self-motivated, goal-oriented, and a true team player.

You take pride in your work and know what it means to take responsibility and deliver. You enjoy working in a dynamic environment. You have the knowledge and ability to visualize how things could work—and how to turn those ideas into real, functioning solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all areas of game development: gameplay, UI, SDK integration, and services
  • Support and contribute new ideas to game design
  • Communicate clearly, consistently, and proactively
  • Work both independently and collaboratively to develop software solutions from scratch
  • Learn and apply new technologies where appropriate to achieve the product vision
  • Leverage the latest AI technologies to improve quality and efficiency

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong autonomy, work ethic, and initiative; passionate and committed
  • Broad understanding of game technology: you’re excited about gameplay “feel,” committed to delivering great player experiences, and willing to jump into areas outside your comfort zone
  • Experience with multiple programming languages (we use Kotlin, C#, and C++)
  • Experience with connected/online gaming, Unity, and touch-based UI development
  • Open-minded and curious about how AI tools can improve development and creativity

Location

Seattle – Onsite

This studio believes the best games are built together in a highly collaborative environment. That said, life happens—so there is flexibility for occasional remote work.

*Compensation flexibility is available for exceptional talent.
