Contract Details

• Duration: 12 months (with view to extend another 12)
• Location: Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney
• Work Arrangements: Hybrid – 2 days WFH per week
• Citizenship Requirement: Must be an Australian Citizen

Company Overview

BLACKROC is partnering with a high-profile government agency on a major digital transformation initiative. We are currently seeking a Full Stack Developer with strong backend, frontend, and DevOps skills to join their agile delivery team. This is a critical role in designing and delivering secure, scalable, and accessible solutions across national platforms.

Role Purpose

The Full Stack Developer will contribute to building cloud-native applications and APIs, managing CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including QA, BAs, and architects. You will work across the full SDLC in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement APIs using Golang and JavaScript/TypeScript, including REST and GraphQL
• Build accessible web applications using React and TypeScript
• Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform on AWS
• Containerise applications for deployment to Kubernetes using Docker and Helm
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub or GitLab
• Collaborate with QA teams on test coverage and automation
• Participate in code reviews, documentation, and ongoing maintenance
• Ensure solutions meet accessibility, security, and architectural standards

Essential Experience

• Strong experience in API development with Golang and/or TypeScript
• Deep familiarity with AWS services and Terraform
• Proven experience deploying containerised applications to Kubernetes
• Strong frontend development skills using React and TypeScript
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Ability to write comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, functional)

Desirable Experience

• Experience with mobile development using React Native or similar frameworks
• Understanding of WCAG 2.1 and accessible development practices
• Database management experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Ability to contribute across the full SDLC including architecture, deployment, and long-term support
