Development Manager, Digital Delivery at Veikkaus

Are you passionate about working in a team making consumer mobile apps and websites used by millions worldwide?

We are searching for a Development Manager to join our Technology Unit’s Digital Channels team, which is responsible for the websites and mobile apps for Veikkaus businesses and its future international operator customers. The position is permanent and full-time.

You will drive feature definitions and make deliveries happen through:

• Interpreting product and solution roadmaps into actionable development plans
• Contributing your web and app-making expertise into the selection of the right features, the most optimal technology and software architecture
• Stepping in as a product owner for the development teams when needed
• Serving as the single point-of-contact for business product managers and management for any software development-related issues
  
  

Together with a couple of other Digital Channels-specific development managers, you will be a part of the small expert group that shares responsibilities and work in a flexible manner, receiving content guidance from various stakeholders from architects, designers and management and various substance experts. You will report to a Development Team Manager who is a member of the Steering Group of our Gaming and Product Development unit.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Has years-long experience in central operational roles in an internationally focused consumer (B2C) web or mobile app development teams
• Embraces naturally agile way of planning and is handy with JIRA and other similar tools
• Has the intellectual capability and curiosity for the complexities of a data-centric business
• Is a “web and mobile enthusiast” understanding deeply the dynamic nature of web and mobile
• Learns technical concepts quickly through self-study respecting the scarce time of developers
• Has strong written and oral communication skills in English and is able to deliver key points equally via thoughtful team presentations and quick Slack messages
• Has appropriate academic degree in a field relevant to a highly data-centric consumer business
• Has meaningful experience in money gaming or sports data business through work or other projects
• Is willing to work at Veikkaus headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, approximately four days a week
