Senior Java Software Engineer

📍 Hybrid | Amstelveen Region | Long-term Freelance/Contract

For one of our key public-sector clients, I’m looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer – Ops to join a multidisciplinary Scrum team. This is a long-term freelance opportunity offering hybrid flexibility and the chance to make a real social impact through innovative digital services used by millions.

🛠 Tech Stack & Tools

• Java (17+), Spring Boot, Maven
• Kubernetes / OpenShift (container orchestration)
• Jenkins, XL Release, XL Deploy (CI/CD pipeline management)
• Angular (for those with front-end experience)

✅ What You’ll Be Doing

• Build & maintain Java backend applications and Angular front-ends
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure
• Contribute to architectural decisions and security implementation
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Devs, and Scrum Masters

🧠 What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of Java backend development experience
• Solid DevOps mindset with hands-on CI/CD and container skills
• Proven experience in agile/Scrum teams
• Passion for secure coding and scalable architecture
• Fluent in English (Dutch is a plus)
