Java AWS Developer

Location: 50% on-site (Leuven / Mechelen / Brussels OR Ghent)

Remote Work Possibility: 50% remote

Type of Contract: Permanent Contract preferably

Mandatory Languages: Dutch + English (C1 minimum), French is a plus

Eligibility: Candidates must possess European nationality or a valid work permit for Belgium.

Job Description:

We are looking for a Java AWS Developer to support a large-scale software development initiative. You will collaborate closely with internal teams to build and maintain an AWS-based platform that supports modern development and deployment workflows.

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop the cloud-based development environment.
• Collaborate with AWS platform engineers.
• Support and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
• Manage AWS cloud services, including EKS Kubernetes clusters.
• Work alongside developers using Java Spring Boot and Java Lambda-based applications.
• Ensure smooth integration of services like S3, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, and EventBridge.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

Must-Have Skills:

• Proven experience with AWS (incl. EKS, API Gateway, Lambda)
• Strong Java development background
• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot microservices
• Hands-on with Terraform and Docker
• Familiarity with GitHub & GitHub Actions
• Good knowledge of cloud-native architectures and CI/CD principles
