🚀 About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to support the European Commission’s Digital Product Passport (DPP) initiative, part of the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation. This is a high-impact project aiming to make sustainable products the new norm across the EU 🌱💡.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

✅ Meet with DPP stakeholders to gather cloud infrastructure requirements

✅ Design cloud-native architecture blueprints and advise on best-fit services (AWS, Azure, OVH, etc.)

✅ Lead infrastructure design, prototyping, PoC development

✅ Implement DevSecOps practices in agile environments

✅ Ensure cloud architecture meets EC-level security and compliance standards

✅ Support release planning, monitoring and incident/problem resolution

✅ Collaborate with other tech teams across the Commission ecosystem

✅ Promote continuous improvement and maintain comprehensive documentation

✅ Participate in coordination meetings, contribute to project strategy.

📌 Required Skills & Experience

✔ 15+ years of experience in large, enterprise-level multi-user systems

✔ Deep knowledge in cloud security, multi-cloud architecture, and DevSecOps

✔ Strong background in deployment/release management and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)

✔ Hands-on with tools like JIRA, Git, Jenkins, Bamboo, SonarQube, Prometheus, Nagios

✔ Experience with blockchain-based infrastructure

✔ Proven ability to troubleshoot and optimise cloud environments

✔ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – English B2+ required

✔ Experience in EU institutions or public sector projects is a strong plus

🎯 TOGAF certification (The Open Group Architecture Framework)

🎯 One of the following DevOps certifications:

• Certified DevSecOps Professional (CDP)
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• Microsoft DevOps Engineer Expert
