Senior Python Engineer - Open banking

Contract Type: 6-Month Contract (Extendable)

Location: Onsite – Relocation to [Abu Dhabi/ Dubai]

Nationality Requirement: Western Nationals Only

Relocation Support: Visa sponsorship, medical insurance, and relocation flights provided

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs from scratch using Python.
• Expose APIs as products for external consumption, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Lead the entire software development lifecycle – from architecture to deployment and monitoring.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar.
• Work with AWS services, especially API Gateway, Lambda (serverless architecture), and IAM.
• Use Terraform for infrastructure as code and manage cloud resources efficiently.
• Ensure API standardization and maintain clear documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Integrate OAuth and other authentication mechanisms to secure APIs.
• Work with both relational (RDBMS) and NoSQL databases depending on the application needs.
• Operate in a small, agile team where accountability, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration are key.

🧠 Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of backend development experience with Python as the core language.
• Proven experience in building APIs from scratch and exposing them as products.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, particularly:
• API Gateway
• Lambda
• IAM, CloudWatch, S3
• Familiarity with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools.
• Experience with OAuth, JWT, or other API security standards.
• Solid understanding of RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB).
• Comfortable working in small, fast-paced teams with high accountability and ownership.
