About The Team
As Nokia's growth engine, we create value for communication service providers and enterprise customers by leading the transition to cloud-native software and as-a-service delivery models. Our inclusive team of dreamers, doers and disruptors push the limits from impossible to possible.
- Position: Generative AI Research Intern
- Duration: Flexible / 6 months
- Location: Espoo, Finland
- Educational recommendations: Pursuing ongoing studies in a relevant field at a Finnish university
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
- Design and implement experiments to test hypotheses, optimize models, and analyze results, with a focus on reproducibility and rigorous ablation studies.
- Develop tools and pipelines to support research workflows, including data preprocessing, model training, and evaluation frameworks.
- Debug and refine code with meticulous attention to detail, diving deep into technical challenges to improve system performance.
- Collaborate closely with researchers and engineers to prototype new features for ongoing projects in generative AI.
- Document findings clearly to contribute to internal knowledge sharing and potential publications.
- Hands-on experience with state-of-the-art GenAI technologies (e.g., LLMs, vision models, or reinforcement learning for generative tasks).
- Best practices in research-driven development, including experimental design, metric evaluation, and iterative improvement.
- How to thrive in a team that values precision, curiosity, and a methodical approach over quick fixes.
- Strong problem-solving: untangle complex bugs with systematic analysis
- Python/Linux skills: package management, shell , version control
- Research mindset: learn methods, read papers, implement and iterate using data
- Fluent English
- Nice to have: AI/ML and Generative AI experience, coursework , publication or projects
- Curiosity and patience: You ask “why” and test assumptions, even when deadlines loom.
- Ownership: You take pride in delivering polished, well-tested solutions.
- Collaboration: You thrive in team environments where feedback drives progress.
