Project Manager – Drug Development

Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex drug development and manufacturing projects. You’ll work closely with global pharma and biopharma clients, managing cross-functional teams and ensuring successful project execution from early process transfer through to GMP manufacturing or handover. The role sits at the heart of fast-moving, high-impact programmes focused on accelerating the world’s most promising medicines.

What You’ll Do

• Plan and manage end-to-end project delivery including timelines, resources, budgets, and risk
• Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships
• Coordinate cross-functional teams (scientists, engineers, QA, regulatory, manufacturing) to align with project goals
• Use digital PM tools to track progress, report status, and manage changes
• Oversee budgets and financial reporting, flagging risks and driving cost efficiency
• Identify project risks and issues early, applying solutions and escalating where needed
• Support continuous improvement efforts and contribute to development of new service offerings

What You’ll Need

• Degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or related area
• 3+ years' project management experience in pharma, biotech, or life sciences
• Strong understanding of GMP, drug development and manufacturing environments
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage clients, and deliver to tight timelines
• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with tools like Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or similar
• PMP, Prince2 or equivalent certification (preferred)
