The Marketing Communications and Citizenship (MCC) team, work in service of the business priorities to build market awareness for our capabilities, to build and enhance relationships with clients, prospects, and business partners, and to generate demand for our Technology and Consulting capabilities.

For the EMEA Communications team, based out of our IBM Madrid office, we are looking for hand-on, can do communication specialist who want to run their internship (werk-stage) in tech and services. Come and join the team. You will spend 6-12 months on different assignments, working for parts of the MCC organization and learning a ton! "

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are looking for a communications intern who is passionate about storytelling, digital / audiovisual communications and media relations and is willing to learn with us how to further enhance our Brand reputation in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). We are looking for someone who is very creative and with a digital mindset (Digital native) willing to learn and grow; someone who thrives in an international environment, working on several external - internal - social comms projects in parallel. Additionally, this person must be fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English. Use of audiovisual design, production and/or edition tools is preferred.

IBM offers you the opportunity to join its BlueCamp program and do an internship in the communications area, put into practice the theoretical knowledge learned in your studies and start your professional career path.

In this position you will collaborate with different areas of the IBM EMEA communications department so you can have a global vision of the world of communications of a large company, you will actively participate in the defining process and execution of programs and digital communication campaigns and social networks and you will learn the most cutting-edge trends, always under the mentoring of experts, in a flexible and diverse environment.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

To interview for your internship on the team based in Madrid, here’s what we are looking for:


  • Willingness to learn and a passion for communications, message development, and a dynamic multicultural work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications in English and Spanish (at least C1)
  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiar with MS Office suite, and design/video editing skills for social media.
  • Keen interest in how technology is applied to support business transformation.
  • Strong sense of responsibility towards work and be a team player.


Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise


  • Study communication at a Spanish university.
  • Live in the Madrid region (ability to be in the office 3 days a week).
