Life400 Developer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Life400 Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing and maintaining the Life/400 system, specifically within the life insurance industry. This role involves system enhancements, new product launches, production support, and ensuring the quality of software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Enhancements: Support and implement system enhancements and new functionalities.
• New Product Integration: Develop and integrate new products into the existing Life/400 system.
• Production Support: Address production support issues and make necessary changes.
• Analysis and Design: Analyse business requirements and design solutions that meet these needs.
• Software Development: Develop, build, and unit test new software components.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct QA and SIT testing of software developed by other Life400 developers.
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT): Provide support during UAT phases.
• Documentation: Complete functional specification documents and other necessary documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in COBOL/400, CL/400, AS400/Query, and SQL.
• Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in the life insurance industry.
• Software Development Life Cycle: Strong understanding of the full software development life cycle.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to provide quality technical solutions within required schedules and standards.

Qualifications:

• A recognized qualification in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining Life/400 systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with insurance product development and integration.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
