We are seeking a visionary Director of AI to lead our artificial intelligence strategy and initiatives from our Abu Dhabi, UAE office. In this executive role, you will be responsible for driving AI innovation across the organization by overseeing the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning solutions. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of technical expertise and leadership experience, with a proven track record in building and scaling AI systems using tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to align AI initiatives with business goals, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful execution of a high-impact AI roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute AI strategies that align with the company’s overall objectives to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
• Identify and capitalize on opportunities for AI-driven improvements across various business functions.
• Create and manage detailed AI project roadmaps to ensure timely and efficient delivery of initiatives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to secure necessary resources and support for AI projects.
• Stay informed on industry trends and advancements to guide strategic decision-making and technology adoption.
• Oversee the entire lifecycle of AI projects, from research and development through to deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Build and deploy end-to-end machine learning models, leveraging metrics to support predictions, recommendations, and growth strategies.
• Ensure AI projects are completed within scope, on time, and within budget, while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
• Guide the design and implementation of AI models, ensuring they meet high standards for performance, accuracy, and reliability.
• Generate and present comprehensive reports and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and engage with the open-source community to remain at the forefront of AI advancements.

About the Skills, Education & Experience Required

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field (advanced degrees preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in data science and AI/ML, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role
• Proven programming skills using ML tools such as C/C++, Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and HuggingFace.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong statistical and mathematical skills including linear algebra, probability, and calculus.
• Expertise in data manipulation and analysis using tools like Pandas, NumPy, and SQL.
• Ability to design and implement machine learning algorithms and models.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Tableau.
• Proficiency with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark, and cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning.
• The role requires a solid background in data science, including expertise in machine learning, statistics, programming, data structures, and software architecture.
