About The Role

We are currently looking for a Fullstack Engineer (Java/Python) to join our high-performing engineering team. This is a full-time, remote-first position open to candidates across Canada, with occasional hybrid collaboration as needed. The ideal candidate will bring 7–10 years of full stack development experience, with hands-on expertise across both front-end and back-end technologies, as well as experience in financial or transactional systems.

You will be responsible for developing scalable applications, building and consuming APIs, managing microservices, and ensuring the reliability of systems used in financial workflows. The role also calls for leadership in mentoring junior developers and participating in architectural discussions.

Key Responsibilities

Build responsive, user-friendly interfaces using Angular or React
Develop backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot) and Python
Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
Work with RDBMS (Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ELK)
Integrate messaging platforms such as Solace or MQ for distributed communication
Use CI/CD tools and pipelines; work within a DevOps environment using Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
Debug complex issues and implement robust solutions
Collaborate across teams while independently handling complex modules
Provide mentorship to junior developers
Support mission-critical transactional or financial systems

Must-Have Skills & Experience

7–10 years of full stack development experience
Proficient in Angular or React for frontend development
Strong backend development in Java (Spring Boot) and Python
Familiar with RESTful API design and microservices
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Exposure to messaging systems (Solace, MQ)
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps toolchains
Strong debugging and independent problem-solving skills
Background in financial systems or transactional platforms

Nice-to-Have Skills

Experience with Python frameworks like Flask or Django
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
Knowledge of SWIFT Payments and ISO20022 standards
Exposure to Agile tools and practices (JIRA, Confluence)
Understanding of JWT, OAuth, and security best practices
Experience with event-driven systems and distributed architectures
