Senior iOS Software Engineer

Perplexity AI is looking for a Senior iOS Engineer to join our small team revolutionizing the way people search and interact with the internet. You will be responsible for building new experiences and improving the performance of Perplexity’s iOS app. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, an interest in search and large language models, and a passion for delivering a great UX backed by a quality UI. Responsibilities include developing a native iOS app for Perplexity's evolving product, defining the processes around mobile development including planning, testing, releasing, and monitoring, and working with the core team to design and implement novel mobile experiences. Qualifications include 5+ years industry experience, strong Swift fundamentals, experience with SwiftUI (iOS16+) and UIKit, enjoyment of building nice UI and good UX, understanding of low-level intricacies and app performance profiling, comfort working with a small fast-moving team, and a passion for iOS development. Nice to have experience includes macOS, Mac Catalyst, WebSockets, HTTP, concurrency and multithreading. The role offers a cash compensation range of $180,000 - $220,000, with final offers depending on experience and expertise. Equity may be part of the total compensation package.
