A customer of ours in the Education sector in Brussels is looking for a Functional Analyst to join their team as a freelance consultant.

They are a leading educational institution currently undergoing a large-scale digital transformation, focused on improving student services, learning platforms, and internal operations. They’re investing heavily in modernizing their technology landscape and delivering smarter, more user-friendly tools for students, teachers, and administrative staff.

Role:

• Gather and translate business needs from a wide range of users including students, academic staff, and administrative teams
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews to map current processes and identify pain points
• Translate business requirements into clear, detailed functional specifications and user stories
• Work closely with development teams, UX/UI specialists, and testers throughout the delivery lifecycle
• Support functional testing and user acceptance testing to ensure high-quality outcomes
• Contribute to change management and adoption initiatives to ensure solutions land successfully with end users
• Help define future-state processes and improvements to digital learning tools and platforms

Requirements:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Functional Analyst or Business Analyst in digital transformation or IT change projects
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum experience preferred)
• Previous experience in the Education sector is a bonus but not essential

Additional Details:

START DATE: ASAP

DURATION: 12 Months (extensions expected)

CONTRACT: Freelance

LOCATION: Brussels

ONSITE POLICY: Hybrid – 2 days onsite, remainder remote

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

LANGUAGES: English + French
