As part of the Application Development Team (ADT), you are responsible for the functional behavior of the boiler. The control units developed and maintained by the XCT team are used in the appliances developed and produced by our colleagues at the various Bosch Home Comfort locations. In your role as Application Software Engineer, you will contribute in a very brought sense to the maintenance of existing and development of new functions that contribute to the comfort and efficiency improvement of heating appliances for homes and buildings.

As part of an agile SCRUM team which has the lifetime responsibility over the control units, you also take care of the implementation and testing of the necessary functions and algorithms in software, you provide the corresponding documentation and make sure that your software is released following the quality-procedures within the Bosch organization. You take into account the modification of the software for our internal customers by means of parameters, so that it can be adapted to the wishes and characteristics of a specific boiler implementation. To optimize our work, you are also involved in automating and streamlining the whole development and release process as much as possible.

• Developing control software based on product and process requirements.
• Discussing and defining concepts with both internal and external located developers.
• Designing, documenting and implementing software including (unit) tests based on the defined architecture.
• Implementing new features especially in Simulink, C++, DSL and Python (pipeline)
• Releasing software versions according to the quality procedures.
• Implementing new automated tests and build features to improve the working process.
• Collaborating with other Bosch HC departments worldwide to get specifications and software to the desired level.
• Supporting the department to continuously improve software development processes and methods.
  
  

• BSc or MSc in Software Engineering, Computer Science (CS) or Electrical Engineering (EE) or related study with at least 3 years of relevant work experience or similar level;
• Experience with Simulink, C++ and Python is a must;
• Knowledge of the latest software development techniques and methods;
• Practical knowledge with debugging and testing of software;
• Analytically strong, proactive, dynamic attitude and hands-on mentality;
• Experience with Agile development is a plus;
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language.
