Your Role and Responsibilities

The event marketing strategist is responsible for event team support as well as end to end planning, execution and success of our IBM events. They support the team to create experiential client engagements and partner closely with agency partners to bring these plans to life. They are responsible for understanding the Global Event Process including event marketing tools and for collaborating closely with team members including sales teams to develop an optimized event plan.

Responsible for event team support as well as event planning & execution – design/delivery to build and generate pipeline.


  • Handle end to end process and tools
  • Ensures all legal, compliance, finance, and other required processes efficiently completed
  • Own and optimize events to meet business objectives based on stakeholder feedback
  • Partner with key stakeholders including top account marketing & field marketing (conversation/growth squads to define objectives, target audience, develop plan including requirements for associated ABM/targeted audience actions)
  • Designs individual event attendee experience within the client journey based on standard event kits
  • Ensures sales alignment and events execution (with field marketing)
  • Manages post event outcomes and performance with relevant stakeholders (i,e., field marketing)

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Good experience in marketing or a related role


  • Proven experience in event marketing
  • Ability to think strategically and manage resources (time and budget) to achieve objectives
  • High energy, independent worker, self-starter, resourceful and problem solver
  • Proven ability to work independently under pressure, managing resources and multiple projects simultaneously
  • Fluent English


Preferred Technical And Professional Expertise


  • Master's degree in a related field, preferred
  • Experience with event and/or marketing platforms including Rainfocus, CVENT, Airtable, Marketo, etc. preferred
