About The Role

As a Technical Support Engineer, you will support automation systems onboard vessels worldwide. You’ll troubleshoot using ABB’s Remote Diagnostic System (RDS), assist customers via various channels, and provide technical advisory both externally and within ABB.


Responsibilities

  • Support ABB Marine control systems on vessels
  • Advanced troubleshooting via ABB’s Remote Diagnostic System (RDS)
  • Further develop, maintain and analyze existing code for relevant embedded control systems
  • Maintain and further development of Marine control applications for ABB’s industrial PLC’s
  • Assist customers via phone, email, remote access, and on-site visits
  • Provide internal technical support within ABB Marine
  • Contribute to product and service improvements
  • Collaborating with R&D on future solutions
  • Conduct field service tasks globally
  • Manage upgrades and retrofit projects


Requirements

  • BSc or Technical College education
  • Experience with automation systems (marine sector preferred)
  • Fluent in English and Norwegian (spoken and written)
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Knowledge of shipboard systems is a plus
