Design Lead

THE ROLE:

We’re looking for an experienced and visionary Lead UX/UI Designer to drive user-centric design across our largest product, LiveJasmin. This role is based in Luxembourg and it’s ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy, design, and leadership - you will play a critical role in shaping user experiences and interfaces that are not only visually stunning but also intuitive and effective.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

UX/UI Design

Create user journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.

Contribute directly as an individual contributor on high-impact projects (UI, visual design, marketing assets).

Conduct user research, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.

Ensure consistency in visual design, interaction patterns, and usability across platforms.

Build, maintain, and evolve UX/UI design systems and component libraries.

Maintain and evolve our design system and UI component library.

Ensure scalable, accessible, and consistent design implementation.

Promote consistency through design principles and a user-first mindset.

Team Management & Collaboration

Lead and mentor a team of UX/UI designers, fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth.

Mentor team members on both craft and soft skills through 1:1s and quarterly performance reviews.

Assign projects that support career growth and development.

Cultivate a healthy, collaborative, and inclusive design culture.

Partner closely with Engineering for seamless design integration and implementation.

Own task prioritization, team schedules, and resourcing.

Review and guide the team’s output to ensure alignment with business goals and design best practices.

Maintain high design standards across deliverables, processes, and tools.

Advocate for user-centric design throughout the organization.

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to define and drive the design vision and strategy.

Act as the bridge between your team and stakeholders—setting expectations and negotiating deadlines.

Translate stakeholder needs into actionable design requirements.

Collaborate with other leads to align priorities across teams.

Ensure accurate, high-quality implementation by working closely with developers.

Encourage tight partnership with PMs, POs, Engineers, BAs, and QA.

Champion design values across the organization and foster cross-functional alignment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, including 3+ years in a lead or managerial role.

Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design process.

Proficiency in tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and prototyping tools (e.g., InVision, Framer).

Advanced Photoshop skills; good working knowledge of Illustrator and After Effects.

Solid grasp of responsive web and mobile design principles.

Experience working with design systems (Material Design, Apple HIG).

Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and creative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, DALL·E, Midjourney).

BONUS SKILLS:

Familiarity with JavaScript libraries, 3D tools, WordPress, and Bootstrap.

Solid understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and front-end capabilities.

Familiarity with AI tools, e.g. Vercel V0 and Framer.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and rationale.
