SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER - CIB RISK TRANSFORMATION

ABOUT THE AREA

At GRM CIB Risk Transformation, we support CIB Growth Initiatives and lead the transformation initiatives of the GRM CIB teams, with a focus on processes and technology. Our efforts are centered around:

• Ensuring right involvement and smooth execution of Risk streams within CIB Businesses (GM, GTB, IBF, Transversal).
• Leading the unit’s transformation by improving processes efficiency, data quality and adoption of new technological solutions.
• Managing transformation projects within the area.
• Leading group-level risk initiatives within CIB.

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to support the execution of strategic transformation initiatives within GRM CIB Risk. This role is crucial in driving changeacross risk-related processes, ensuring alignment with the unit’s roadmap, and contributing to its overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Working closely with the head of the team, the selected candidate will support the design, planning, and implementation of transformation projects, with a particular focus on process optimization, automation, and alignment with regulatory and business needs. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders across GRM CIB, IT, and business units, both locally and internationally.

This is a high-visibility position that offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the evolution of BBVA’s risk function within the CIB segment, leveraging best practices from across the industry.

Main responsibilities

• Manage and execute transformation projects focused on process optimization and adoption of new technological solutions.
• Identify improvement opportunities and collaborate with different GRM CIB areas to resolve them.
• Promote process reengineering and automation.
• The candidate will gain in-depth knowledge of risk management processes and is expected to contribute with new perspectives and improvements.
• Collaborate with peers across CIB, other bank areas, and countries.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA,MsC Finance, CFA, FRM or similar qualifications desired but not mandatory.

Valued Knowledge

• Knowledge of CIB Business, products and end to end value chain.
• Knowledge of wholesale credit risk and market risk.
• Understanding of risk processes and functions.
• Experience in managing and executing transformation projects focused on process optimization and technological solutions implementation.
• Familiarity with process reengineering methodologies.

Professional Experience

• Experience in process/organizational design, project management.
• Risk management background.
• Between 7 and 10 years of relevant experience.

Languages

• English: C1 level.
