We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our in-house software development team. The ideal candidate will enjoy learning, seeing projects through to completion and thrive on new challenges. Essential Duties
- Design and develop cloud infrastructure for cutting edge services that will transform the hospitality industry in the UAE
- Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to enhance IT team skills
- Advocate for and implement DevOps principles across the organization
- Collaborate with engineering team to deliver efficient, automated solutions
- Develop and review CI/CD pipelines and ensure robust workflow
- Develop infrastructure as code for our cloud-based solutions
- Identify and improve automation processes in partnership with leadership
- Enable visibility of our services through metrics, dashboards and alerts
- Promote and introduce best practices to continuously improve team performance and developer’s experience
- Performs controlled resolution of incidents and problems including prioritization and escalation to relevant groups when appropriate, root cause analysis of all problems with follow through resolution
- Ensure Incident & Problem management procedures are diligently followed
- Ability to handle incidents, problems and change. Calm and analytical when faced with major incidents on critical systems
- Implement and drive automation focused on productivity improvements
- Exhibits sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information with inherent confidence with operations and technology partners on regional or global basis
- Bachelor’s degree required in computer science, information technology, mathematics or related field
- 4+ years of engineering experience with cloud technologies
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud
- Wide knowledge of storage systems such as PostgreSQL, Redis
- Experience with Docker, Terraform, IaC, Kubernetes, AKS, PowerShell, Helm
- Proficiency in security practices in Azure
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD solutions, e.g. GitHub actions, Circle CI, Azure DevOps
- Understanding of monitoring tools such as DataDog, NewRelic
- Experience in distributed system architecture (microservices, event-driven, REST)
- Ability to mentor other engineers
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group
