Network Operations Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a skilled Senior Operations Engineer to support and maintain enterprise infrastructure with a focus on virtualization, networking, and automation. This role is critical to the success of the AVS project and will help ensure operational continuity across engineering and infrastructure teams. You’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to support VMware NSX-T and vSphere environments, troubleshoot issues, and maintain system performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for infrastructure projects, particularly those involving VMware NSX-T, AVI, and vSphere.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across virtualized and networked environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support design and implementation efforts.
• Ensure smooth project execution by maintaining system health, performance, and availability.
• Follow and enhance operational procedures to ensure consistency and reliability.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell or similar tools to improve efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze logs using tools like VMware vRealize Network Insight and Log Insight.

Must-Have Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in network or infrastructure engineering roles.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with VMware NSX-T and vSphere.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing/switching, and basic load balancing concepts.
• Familiarity with Layer 2/3 networking tools (e.g., ping, traceroute, ARP).
• Experience with network troubleshooting and operational support in virtualized environments.
• Ability to follow structured operational processes and collaborate across teams.
• Basic scripting or automation experience using PowerShell or similar tools.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to AVI Networks, VMware HCX, or vRealize Network Insight.
• Understanding of VXLAN, EVPN/BGP, or other network overlay technologies.
• Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, and network security concepts (ACLs, micro-segmentation, zero trust).
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments, especially Azure VMware Solution (AVS).
• Familiarity with Ansible for automation and configuration management.
• ITIL or similar operations framework knowledge.
