Senior Manager Production Planning

Role overview:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the production planning function in Slovenia. You will manage the full planning cycle from demand forecasting to capacity planning, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing the work of a dedicated planning team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end production planning and develop the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
• Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the site.
• Align customer demand, inventory targets, and production capacity.
• Monitor and adjust plans in response to real-time data and supply chain disruptions.
• Identify constraints and production bottlenecks, working closely with operational teams.
• Optimize inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
• Drive improvements in planning KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turnover, and production adherence.
• Contribute to digital transformation efforts (SAP/MES).
• Lead and mentor a team of 7 production planners.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Quality, Product Development, and other key functions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in production planning or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment (glass or process industry is a plus).
• Proven leadership experience managing planning teams (5+ FTEs).
• Strong command of SAP, MES, Excel, and other analytical tools.
• Solid understanding of S&OP, MPS, and capacity planning.
• Familiarity with ISO standards and lean manufacturing principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage cross-functional stakeholders.
• Fluent in Slovene and English; other languages are a plus.
• Experience working in global matrix organizations is preferred.
