Lead Data Engineer

Location: Helsinki

Nord group are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to drive the development of next-generation data and reporting solutions working with a leading Financial Services company. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of digital transformation, working with modern technologies such as Snowflake, Kafka, APIs, dbt, and AWS to build scalable, future-proof data platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop end-to-end data solutions on Snowflake
• Build and maintain real-time data streaming and integration pipelines (Kafka, APIs)
• Lead technical solution design, data modelling, and ensure data quality and governance
• Mentor and guide distributed development teams across multiple locations
• Develop ELT pipelines using dbt, Python, SnowPark, and SnowCLI
• Recommend platform and tool choices, and drive implementation of best practices
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to translate requirements into actionable solutions

About the Role:

You will join a dynamic Data & Reporting team responsible for delivering modern data and analytics platforms. The team supports enterprise-wide reporting, self-service analytics, and advanced data integration across multiple platforms including Snowflake, Kafka, and business intelligence tools.

Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, and Analytics as an architect and/or developer
• Strong software engineering background with Python/Java/Scala, CI/CD, Test-Driven Development, Unit Testing
• Proven hands-on experience with Snowflake and AWS data pipelines (dbt, SnowPark, SnowCLI)
• Expertise with Kafka (connectors, producers, consumers)
• Strong solution architecture and data modelling skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Preferred (Not Mandatory) Skills:

DataStage | Power BI | MSSQL (SSIS/SSAS) | Oracle RDBMS | Apache Iceberg
