Role Overview

The IT Field Service Engineer is responsible for delivering on-site and remote technical support to clients across the Southeast. This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and networking issues, implementing IT solutions, and ensuring high customer satisfaction levels. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, servers, and network infrastructure (Windows, LAN/WAN/VLAN technologies).
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to operating systems, hardware, software, and networking equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and network devices.
• Support and maintain cloud and web services (e.g., VMWare, Azure, Office 365).
• Document solutions, produce high-quality technical reports, and update support tickets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and IT best practices.
• Travel to client sites within Waterford and surrounding areas as required.

Requirements

• Experience working in a field engineer role.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server & Desktop Operating Systems
• Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Administration & Security.
• Experienced in troubleshooting networking, firewalls, and routers
• Knowledge of infrastructure virtualisation, e.g. Hyper-V, VMWare, Azure.
• Knowledge of managing backups.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, time management and customer service skills.
• Ideally, candidates will have a 3'rd level IT qualification or a recognised IT qualification.
• Full clean driving license.
