Senior Networking Engineer – FortiGate Specialist

Location: Waterford City / Hybrid 

Job Description: 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Networking Engineer with deep expertise in the FortiGate security stack to join our team in an engineering capacity. This is a hybrid role based out of our Waterford offices, with occasional travel required for customer meetings and company events. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, implement, and support secure network infrastructures with a focus on Fortinet FortiGate firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances.
• Provide escalation-level support for complex networking and security issues across client environments.
• Collaborate with clients to assess networking requirements and deliver tailored FortiGate-based solutions.
• Lead network security assessments and recommend improvements aligned with best practices and compliance standards.
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular engagement, including participation in meetings and events.
• Stay current with Fortinet technologies and contribute to maintaining company accreditations through certification upkeep.
• Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures. 

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience as a Senior Networking Engineer, Network Security Consultant, or similar role.
• Expert-level knowledge of Fortinet FortiGate products, including firewall policies, UTM features, SD-WAN, and high availability setups.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.) and security principles.
• Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
• Relevant certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4/5/6/7, CCNP Security, or equivalent.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 

Desirable Skills: 

• Experience with Microsoft Azure networking and security services.
• Familiarity with Aruba Networks solutions, including wireless infrastructure and network access control.
• Knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls and security platforms.
