Our challenge

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong background in DevOps to lead and manage complex software development and deployment projects. The ideal candidate will oversee cross-functional teams, ensure successful project delivery, and drive the adoption of DevOps best practices to enhance automation, CI/CD pipelines, and overall operational efficiency.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Toronto, ON is CAD $120K - CAD $130K/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead the planning, execution, and success of DevOps-related projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between development, operations, QA, and business teams to gather requirements and communicate project progress.
• DevOps Strategy: Collaborate with architects and engineers to define and implement DevOps best practices, tools, and methodologies.
• Process Improvement: Identify areas for process automation, efficiency enhancements, and continuous improvement within the software delivery lifecycle.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and resource allocation.
• Reporting: Provide regular updates and metrics on project status, risks, and performance to senior management.
• Tool Management: Oversee the implementation and integration of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that deployment pipelines and infrastructure are secure, reliable, and compliant with organizational standards.

Requirements:

• Ability to work independently, apply critical and strategic thinking to issues, and manage deadlines while balancing competing priorities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, detail-oriented.
• Effective stakeholder & relationship management, and strong collaboration.
• 10+ years of working on medium-to-high complexity initiatives with Project / Program delivery.
• Project Management Certification (PMP® or equivalent).
• Experience working with multi-site and cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge and understanding of SDLC.
• Knowledge and understanding of DevOps methodology and tools (e.g. Artifactory, Jenkins).

Preferred skills:

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Knowledge of security and compliance standards related to DevOps.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
