A high-frequency crypto trading firm based in the Netherlands is looking for a Node.js Backend Specialist to join their backend development team. The company plays a critical role in global crypto markets, acting as a market maker that provides liquidity and helps stabilise prices across multiple exchanges. By running proprietary trading strategies through its own high-performance platform, it ensures tighter spreads and fairer pricing for everyday traders.

As part of a growing team of engineers and quantitative specialists, the Node.js specialist will work on backend systems that power real-time trading operations. This includes developing event-driven applications, integrating third-party APIs, and collaborating directly with traders to operationally support active strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain core backend services for a live trading platform
• Implement and optimise event-based systems
• Build and integrate APIs for real-time data and execution
• Collaborate with traders to support operational trading
• Contribute ideas to both technical and strategic development

Tech Requirements:

• 4+ years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript
• Familiarity with SQL (MySQL or similar)
• Experience with Redis and Docker
• Comfortable building and maintaining APIs
• Bonus: Python basics and understanding of trading, finance, or AI models
