Location: Remote (with occasional travel to Dublin or Kraków)

About the role

We're seeking a Tech Lead Engineer to join a growing engineering team on a key project for a global technology consultancy. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in building scalable, cloud-native backend systems using Microsoft technologies.

You’ll collaborate closely with architects, product managers, and engineers to design and deliver impactful features, with a focus on event-driven architecture, CQRS, and microservices.

We’re looking for someone with at least 2 years’ experience in a Lead Engineer capacity who can bring strong architectural thinking, mentoring ability, and technical leadership.

Tech stack

Backend: .NET Core (C#)

Cloud: Azure (App Services, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Hubs)

Architecture: Microservices, CQRS, NoSQL

DevOps: GitHub, GitHub Actions

Data: Cosmos DB, NoSQL, SQL Server

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain high-availability backend systems and APIs

Lead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions

Mentor and support junior and mid-level engineers

Champion code quality, testing, and CI/CD best practices

Work in a collaborative agile team with product and design

What we're looking for

6+ years of backend development experience, primarily with .NET Core

2+ years as a Lead Engineer or Technical Lead

Strong hands-on experience with Azure (App Services, Cosmos DB, Service Bus, Event Hubs)

Solid understanding of CQRS and NoSQL databases

Skilled in GitHub and GitHub Actions

Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Strong grasp of clean architecture and scalable systems

Nice to have

Experience in high-scale, distributed systems

Familiarity with event sourcing

Understanding of containerisation and IaC (e.g., Docker, Bicep, Terraform)
