ML Engineer / AI Engineer - GCP

This is a truly exciting opportunity for an aspiring AI Engineer / Machine Learning Engineer to join an established, growing team! You'll join a high calibre, small team that delivers cutting-edge GenAI projects to some of Australia's biggest companies. You will get to work with the latest GCP (Google Cloud Platform) tech stack (such as Gemini, Vertex AI and Vertex AI Agent Builder) alongside great mentors.

Experience & Skills required:

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science or similar
• 1-4 years (Minimum) of professional experience in a ML Engineer, Data Scientist or AI Engineer role
• Hands-on Experience using GCP services - such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, etc.
• Intermediate skills with SQL, Python and building data pipelines
• Used Git, ideally some CI/CD and Docker or Kubernetes
• Any GCP Certifications or experience building AI Agents is highly advantageous!
• Any experience with recommender systems and measurement / eval of ML projects is a plus

Location and Work: Sydney CBD 2 days per week, WFH 3 days per week

What tools do they use? The datasets this teamwork on are huge, so typical tools of the trade will be Python, SQL, Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes / Argo / Kubeflow, Kafka/PubSub, APIs this is constantly evolving as the leverage new GenAI and Agentic tools and frameworks.

What will be the main focus of this role? You will come in and help design and build GenAI and Agent solutions to be used at scale in one of our biggest companies. This includes continuous learning, application of research into rapid prototypes, evaluation, proving value and then building and deploying solutions. You will work in a small, highly technical team, but we are seeking people who have a strong growth-mindset and are already keeping up to date with new AI developments on their own.

In terms of skillset - this role includes a strong focus on AI Engineering / ML Engineering.
