The role is responsible for delivering and overseeing end-to-end recruitment of frontline officers, frontline support and corporate support staff across the organisation. The role is critical in attracting, identifying and recruiting the right talent though driving targeted recruitment strategies, campaigns and promotional events, ensuring the QAS attracts the right mix of talent to deliver excellence in ambulance services to the Queensland community.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

  • Highly developed knowledge and understanding of contemporary recruitment and HR legislation, principles and practices and the proven ability to apply that knowledge to provide advisory, consultancy and guidance to management and staff on a range of complex recruitment and human resource management issues.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the proven ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships, liaise effectively, and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to achieve goals and meet deadlines, including dealing with competing demands and managing multiple projects and tasks.
  • Experience in human resource management, including overseeing complex state-wide end to end recruitment processes.


The following mandatory requirements, special conditions and/or other requirements apply to this role:

  • Whilst not mandatory, the possession of tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in human resources will be highly regarded.
  • Whilst not mandatory, experience in large scale recruitment processes will be highly regarded.
  • The incumbent may be required to travel on official business where the possession of a C class driver's licence may be required
